Of Scots-Irish descent, I was born in Florida (Seminole country), raised in Manhattan (Lenape land), and settled at last in the Dawnland of Vermont (Wabanakia).​

My first passion was creative writing; I was trained in and taught linguistic anthropology; I have been becoming an activist all along.
